Hopefully my hearing is fine, but in the singleplayer game I find it hard to adjust the sound of the mission objectives and narrative comments being spoken out. They are mostly shrouded by other sound effects, especially the buildings work, to the point where I need to dispatch from the base to actually hear what the commander is saying. Loud sound effects irritate me, but when I bring them to low value, the commander also speaks at low volume, which indicates these are interconnected. Perpahs the commander voice and other narratives should be linked to a separate control, such as voice?

Under sound options, I set effects and music to 30% and everything else set to 100%. That resolves it for me.

I play in headphones so probably it makes the difference, nevertheless the 3D sounds parameter took care about the base noises. Nevertheless the narrative voice is linked to the regular effects, unfortunately.

Funny thing when I change the "Voice" bar in the sound options menu, the test speech sounds exactly the same volume. Clearly the thing is broken in the game.

The environmental sounds are definitely too loud, even when I have almost all the options seeming valid tosingleplayer campaign, set to values from ten to thirty percent. The environmental sounds just overwhelm all other.

Same for me. It doesn't appear the voice controls are working for me.

I installed VSR 6.0 and that fixed it right up, can hear voices great now. It does seem that effects volume increased voice volume though.
