I was about to write something regarding language as coded information, but as I proceeded, I realized I am drowning; drowning in all those things which are required to be told in order to make the deliverance complete, with the number of sublots growing proportionally to the amount of information a...

Playing the original Bioshock . The game does impress me but fails to kidnap me with amusement. Somewhat what it offers is outside of my main circle of interest, nonetheless is good still. Systemically it is System Shock 2 , the aesthetics is noir mixed with submarine science-fiction futuristic utop...

Aliens versus Predator 2 , been hunting for it so long, now when it appeared on auction portal, even in couple of instasnces, at reasonable price, I doubt whether I want it. Would have to do my homework how does it eventually perform on modern systems, what patches are there available and so on. Us...

Myself I participate in the Cosmology@Home, which is a neighbour to the SETI@Home. The BOINC client - which all these projects run on, which the acronym stands for Berkeley Open Infrastructure Network Computing - does use GPU memory, next to the sheer computational power of the processor. If I was o...

Wonder how would it look like if to have a six-directions-of-freedom space fighter simulator with Battlezone -like real time strategy approach plus ability to switch vehicles, with spacesuited pilot free run included. Should take quite an engine to handle the physics representative way. Also the glo...

If such things made any further sense, bearing any promise of better quality, next to the idea itself having originated some good ten years ago or something, someone could make a Battlezone mod for Homeworld2 , simply moving the conflict to a larger scale. But I believe such solution would do injust...

Wonder whether it would actually be funny or terrible if in the big fancy walk to the stage a boxer or wheelboxer actually made the entire way in a wheelchair, only to stand up on the stage and fight well. Existential meaning. Life and death.

Competetive multiplayer games. What is characteristic to them is that when people meet, paternally two players, one of them is going to walk out defeated and considered inferior. The other one will now have to put great effort to manage prestigeous position at least proving to be worthy of belonging...

Never saw anything similar in any computer game, though the textures and models on the movies seem heavily downgraded, probably due to ridiculous amounts of units on spot - first two~three minutes of each is enough to see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fz6GrVrzC4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e...

Game the multiplayer of which appealed to me the most is Singularity , though if to take it only for singleplayer campaign, it is just an okay title with console-style narrow field of vision. Pity certain technicalities stood in the way of making people discover how good the multiplayer is in Singul...
